It's Monday, you been to the doctor and got the forms yet?
Yea, the pressure test isn't that bad.. it's my phobia though, and I did it, even though it scared me every time... it just reminded me of one of them science fiction films where them aliens try to suck out your brains with their funny tools...
lol.. try having a doctor sit and take stitches out of your eye.. you can't breathe in case you disturb him and he takes your eye out.. lol...
You can do it kid, I know you can.... you only got to go and get a form and turn up at the hospital.. now that is down right easy...

Talk to a therapist about the phobia. There are also phobia support groups you can look up.

You MUST see the Dr. Miamine is right... you CAN'T play with your health!! If something IS wrong then you can't waste any time, the sooner you see a Dr., then sooner they can fix it.
I have a very similar phobia... I'm terrified of getting my eyes checked. But, I think of how terrible I'd feel if there WERE something wrong with me, I failed to go for the checkup and then it was discovered too late.
They've identified the problem... glaucoma. There ARE treatments... at least you don't have to fear the unknown. If you don't get treatment, you'll go blind... don't throw your sight away, so many people in the world would do anything for the gift of sight just for one day.
I am prone to depression and I have panic attacks often. I don't have clinical depression but I've been to counselors who say I feel things VERY intensely and I've experienced reactive depression... you have to be stronger than the depression, but you DO have it in you. You're not alone.
Without my contacts/glasses, I'm completely blind!! I don't like how I look with glasses (some people look smashing) so I wear contacts.
Putting contacts in is kind of a pain the ass but I'm grateful I can see, I just wish they'd invent an easy way to see... like a pill that you could swallow
GO TO THE EYE DR., IMMEDIATELY!!! DO NOT PASS GO. DO NOT COLLECT YOUR $200!!!!!!!!! If you ever cared for your sight, GO to the eye dr, dammit!

Babes, you didn't really need specsavers, they can't really help you.. But you were scared, so I wanted to make it easier on you to do something and feel a little sucessfull. When you try something and feel like you have won, it makes it easier to tackle the next thing..I have had eye transplants and I have also got clinical depression, so yes I know how it feels. I know you are frightened, but I also know this glucoma thing may leave you blind and then you'll in the darkness for ever. You have to go. We can't run the test over the internet. They need to check your distance reading, (remember the school charts) then they will put some yellow dye in your eyes so they can look closer. They may give you a pressure test, (yukk that's the worse) little pointed thing goes next to your eyes and takes some picture things... My doctors was just like yours. You go in and they write the prescription before you've even sat down.. I DON'T CARE, YOU WILL GO BLIND IF YOU DON'T GET YOUR EYES SEEN TOO.Now specsavers told you to go to the eye department, they can be found in your local hospital. If you don't want to go to the doctor, then go straight to the hospital, tell them you think you have glucoma and your frightened of doctors. Phone the hospital first, and make sure they have a eye hospital. You will probably need to see the doctor, but he will treat you differently. Eye problems are not like depression and suicidal feelings. The doctor dosen't do eyes, so he won't do anything except fill in a piece of paper, so the hospital will see you and give you the test.I was hoping that Specsavers could do the paperwork for you. Well they can't. Phone up the hospital and ask for the eye department. Tell them about the glucoma thing and ask what you should do next. Then come back and update your post, we can do this together. You go and do stuff, and then come back and tell us how you feel. Remember to get yourself a friend to go with you if you feel nervous. It will be alright at the doctors, he just has to fill in the papers. The eye hospiatl is nice, especially when you have something as dangerous as glucoma. You can do this, so go, pick up the telephone and get yourself that appointment. If you go blind you'll find it difficult to write to us anymore.Your young, I think they will give you eye drops and keep watching your eyes... but please go babes, I don't want you to go blind.

Get a friend to take you in the car.. as Chigirl says, you can scream, shout, drag yourself across the floor, but you MUST GO AND GET YOUR EYES SORTED...
Don't worry about the embarrasment... I've been there, and yes, sometimes I am on the floor, crying and trying to escape.. who cares.... I need the doctors and will do anything I can to get there... Get a friend to take you.

I got eye problems and have had two cornea transplants... (I got some dead guys eyes, and I thank him for them everyday... poor guy was young and on a motor bike..
Glucoma is the worst eye disease there is, and blindness will definately occur without treatment.
This girl will go blind because she's scared of doctors.

Such up your phobia. It is ironic that you are scared of the one thing that could possibly save your life. I don't want you make you scared because I have no idea if what you are suffering from is serious or easily treated. But you wont know either until you see a doctor. In this case, I don't think the matter is negotiable. You can't negotiate with your phobia on this one. You just have to suck it up, faint from fear in the waiting room if you must. Have a friend drive you there in case you rather feel like driving off the road than see the doctor. Sit in the backseat away from the wheel if you are that seriously afraid.
What is the worst that could happen if you see the doctor? You faint? You go hysterical and scream? Then let it happen. Your life is more important, just warn your doctor beforehand and it should be ok.

There is no other advice I can give you except to go to a doctor.
I am very afraid of destist, so I think I can understand a bit of your fear.
When you finally get the appointment, you can go there together with one of your bestfriend. That is what I do actually whenever I visit my dentist.
The doctors and medical personels are there to cure you or at least make you feel better, you need to trust them that they'll do their best when they take care of you.

Gleaucoma... without treatment you will go blind.. go into specsavers instead, they can be found on the high street. Tell them about your phobia and ask if they will help you.
Phobia's are serious, but Glaucomo will make you blind so you have no choice, you must go see an optician.

I'm not saying to be hard on yourself or anything like that, just think logically why you are scared and overcome it. I know, I know easier said then done, right? Sit down and write on a peace of paper all the pros and cons of seeing a doctor.
