Good Luck. x

I'd have one massive period which would last sometimes 2 weeks, and then go for like, 2/3 months without one. However, there was apparently nothing wrong, just my hormones going nuts (I looked at it this way - at least my hormones going crazy resulted in something people couldn't see, rather than giving me spots).
When I went onto the pill, they settled down, as your body is given hormones which control when you have a period, and will counteract any imbalance you have. It did make my life much easier.
I hope this turns out ok :)

Two weeks? Aw, that's got to suck.
Because you are only young, it is very likely that your periods will be irregular. Some girls, like you, will have unusually long periods, and others will only get them once every three or four months, like I did. It takes your body a while to get into sync. Since your doctor said there was nothing wrong, I can only assume that this is what it is.
Birth control is a very good way to regulate your periods - these days I can almost time mine down to the hour. I personally am not sure about putting a 10-12 year old on birth control, but that's just me, and I'm very sure your doctor has more training than I, so I woulnd't fret about it too much.
Good luck!
