it's very normal. there have been many studies into it but, they are not publish in normal reading materials mainly medical journals ect. having sex just the physical aspect can through off your period but, if your having sex on a regular basis it eventually becomes a normal cycle.
other than just the bouncing around from sex. ther are chemical aspects like did you know the juices in your vagina are acidic that means there is a PH balance by having sex it throws off that ph balance and that too can change your cycle.
to sum up yes it is normal for your period to come early or late sometime not at all (especially if you have a low body fat percentage)
isn't it sad a guy knows more of what's going on than most girls sex ed really sucks esp. with bush as president

I don't think there have been any studies into it and its not the kind of thing you really talk about so it's not widely known...
But having said that you are about the 10th person I've seen on here asking this exact same question.
You got your period, Yey you are not pregnant! Welcome to that feeling of relief that your birth control is working well at the end of each month.
