If i dont sit down then i will blackout. My penis is not huge so that isnt the problem average size. What could be the problem?

reader, anonymous, writes (10 December 2005): In any guy, regardless of size, a significant amount of blood is diverted when they have an erection/orgasm. I don't know how much this varies based on the size of the penis, but I don't imagine it would be all that much. It's the reason guys so often I'm no med student, but it could be that the things that happen to every guy are combining, in your situation, with something like Orthostatic Hypotension or Positional Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. Both of these sound awful, but neither is significant. The first means you suffer from a drop in blood pressure when standing, and the second means your heart rate speeds up when you stand. Several of my family members suffer from one or the other of these. Try talking to your doctor to see if this is the case. I myself have POTS. Other than making me yawn a lot and tire easily, it's never affected anything I wanted to do, so I've never bothered treating it. Nonetheless, my understanding is that there are some medications that can alleviate the problem (beta-blockers, perhaps?). If you're blacking out, it's simply because your brain isn't getting enough oxygen. Try talking to a doctor if this is something that bothers you. Or, just accept that you need to be less than fully vertical when having sex.
