If he's the same age as you or thereabouts, he's known about his 'sexuality' for awhile now, so it's really too bad he wasn't truthful about this before the two of you 'fooled around'. If he means a lot to you, just remain his close friend. If it is too difficult to remain close to him, tell him why you need to back off for awhile. You might need the space to recover from this.
