But the guy she is going with I have a major crush on. But, my friend dosent know this. Another problem is he kept hinting about prom to me first but i was already going with my friend. I am realy jelous of my friend because she is going wihh my crush, but I think the boy I'm going with 'likes' me and I don't want to hurt his feelings. I don't know whether to say anything to them or not. This probably sounds really stupid compared to some of the other questions, but a little advice would really be apreciated. Love Amy xx

reader, anonymous, writes (14 February 2011): I've read you answer and probably should have put in my question that: The reason I didn't tell my friend about my crush is because I used to date him and when we broke up I promised I would never like him again. Yea probably sounds a bit weird. Thankyou for your advice I found it really helpful :) xx

 I went with a friend of mine to the prom, when we got there I barely saw him at all. Was too busy hanging out with friends, talking, and dancing with everyone else. Just because he's your date doesn't mean you have to be attached to his hip the whole night, the most you owe him is pictures and at least one dance.
Why haven't you told your best friend about your crush? Aren't you supposed to confide in your best friend? It's not too late to mention you happen to have a crush on her date. That's all you can do. It would look rather bitchy of you if you send anything about them 2 going together. That will upset your best friend and make you look bad in front of your crush. Instead, be cool and make sure you get in a dance with your crush.
Also, specify to your date that you two are going as friends. I'm certain he's already aware of this, but just in case reaffirm it.
Be glad you have a date to the prom even though it's not the one you wanted. Think about those girls who have to go stag.
