Our sons also have some genetically inherited issues, what I think it might be bipolar depression,. But I can't diagnose him, as Im not a doctor, Yet I suffer from his avoidance of dealing with his issues. It is tough because I stuck in this very unhappy situation, and there was no really a good chance to leave this highly dysfunctional people so far.. I know, it is very strange to talk about your own family like this. But it is very tragic. I think ,this is a classic case of undiagnosed mental illness. The lifestyle is extremely strange, he was very highly sexed, wanted to have sex twice a day. Than suddenly stopped having any kind of desire for sex, 3 years ago. Like zero. No explanation at all. Our son had one big psychotic episode. He was admitted to hospital for a month. Now he lives in total isolation. Im trying to get them to see a therapist, but they wont. So what can I do in this situation? Thanks very much for reading this. Reply to this Question Share |

You need to find a therapist who will coordinate with you to do an in-house consultation. He/She will be able to observe the activities of your husband and son and get a sense of the problems. Make sure you find someone who is certified and honest. There are many kooks out there who will spin you for your cash. This should be someone your insurance would consider paying a portion of the fees for.
After the consultation, the doctor will be able to tell you further how to proceed.
