A male reader, dc.ryan United Kingdom +, writes (27 December 2007):

dc.ryan agony auntHello,

The thing with texting is peoples messages can be misinterpretted too easily! You could of asked a perfectly harmless question, and he could of taken it as an agressive comment towards him.

Simplest thing to do, is simply text him back something along the lines of "Sorry, was that for me? If it was, can we talk about it?" - you're apologise for any misunderstanding, not jumping to conclusion and offering a chance to talk about something if he did mean it.

Chances are he could be very afraid that you would turn him down, its our biggest fears as men - being turned down by someone we potentially love!
