My ex is an emotional vampire!

A male Spain age 41-50, *iddick writes:

Hello all,

Sorry if my English is not perfect but I am not English but from Spain…I recently broke up with my girlfriend after two years for the third time this year at least and I am not sure what to do…

She is constantly depressed and when she feels down (which is almost everyday) she takes it out on me…It is impossible to talk common sense with her…She says that I am not supporting her mentally but just physically and financially…As I said to her. The other day I took her out for a weekend in London. I rented an apartment and took her out to various places (dinner, tours…etc). I said that this for me is mental support too as I keep her busy by doing things. I used to do everything for her. We don’t live together, but I used to cook, clean her house and go food shopping for her. I even used to go to her house to do her washing.

I had tried everything but no matter how hard I try, it never works. She always has something against me. This is affecting me a lot and I don’t feel happy. I don’t feel she appreciates my help, it is never enough. She is really selfish and greedy. She always wants more and more and she is not really thoughtful.

She blames me of her misery because I am a really happy person and I never have problems. So she thinks I should be unhappy to make her feel better. In my opinion it should be the other way around..

Her libido is really low but when we break up is when she wants to have sex. I think this is really wrong. We should have sex out of love not out of pain. I just don’t understand.

She doesn’t want to get professional help. She says she is scared of doctors. She blames everyone of her situation. Family, friends and of course me.

She always tries to make me feel guilty to get back with her which I normally do. She says that she is at home miserable, doing nothing when we break up and it is my fault. She says I don’t have a heart because I am not with her now. But I tired everything, I cannot change the way she feels about herself.

I feel so guilty now that I am not with her but I think I should not be responsible for her actions or life, I am not doing anything but trying to get on with my life as I have nothing left.

I would appreciate your advice on this.

Thank you
