He is only 5'10 in height.T his makes his bmi at 15.8! Is this normal and should I be worried? When we go to restaurants and things he eats like any normal person, not the most low calorie meals eaither. But according to bmi charts, he is extremely underweight. There are no signs that hes anorexic or anything.(and I know that isnt very common in men anyways). So is he healthy at this weight? And can being underweight like this cause health problems? I dont want to nag him about it because I think hes perfectly happy with his weight, but I do think he could afford to gain a few.

Or it could be something else of course, but I think it is cause for concern that he is so underweight, unusual for a man....he could even have diabetes.

When I was in college (many years ago), I ran competitively and I was 148 pounds with a 28 inch waist and I was 5 ft 10. I can't imagine being 110 at that height.
Take DrPsych's advice and have him see a doctor.

Being underweight (as your boyfriend is) could present lots of health issues in later years. He needs to see a doctor to identify if there is any medical cause - it could be something simple like an overactive thyroid, parasite infection or problem with digesting food. My husband is underweight despite eating normally - he was diagnosed with h-pylori induced stomach ulcers and gastritis (irritation of the stomach lining). He has gained a little weight since starting to take treatment for his stomach ulcer. Some people are naturally thin but he should be checked out nevertheless as he seems VERY thin.
