(i'm actually a little surprised i managed to put it off for so long but ever since he moved to the other side of the country in december, he's been asking more earnestly). i don't really know what to say to him without making him think i don't trust him or something. i'm fine with taking a suggestive photo WITh him to avoid any risk of it getting shared around but i won't see him for another six months or so. what do i do/say? I think you need to tell him you're not comfortable with this and not do anything you don't want to. If the picture may find it's way into the wrong hands and you don't want that, don't bother, he will have to wait.
However, I must ask: why are you with him if you think this picture may or may not get into someone elses possession? It's not hard to hide a photo and keep it to yourself, is it?
Good luck and stick to your guns.

You're right that if you give him a photo there's an opportunity for it to get shown around. Just decide if you trust him to keep it to himself or not and make your decision based on that.
