A male United Kingdom age 51-59, anonymous writes:

What do you think what are the most general issues what can cause problems in ORDER-in people's life between 20-50 years of age? Like the most common is first and less common is last.

This are the subjects.

1,money and carrier

2,relationship marriage

3,health issues and mental health

4,weight and lifestyle issues.

5, serious problems with children

6 problems with sex and sexuality

7 religion and spirituality

I would be really curious, as it seems to me, this are the most common issues, and I wonder ,how it effects your life and happiness, to deal with this, and what were the most significant for you from this list?

chigirl agony auntForgot to add how it affects me. It drags me down, and it is something that has made me strong, but at the same time drains me. It's a thing I need to balance, and it comes in waves. Some periods are good, others are tougher. It sucks energy and happiness out of me, and it is a constant factor as well, as my family will be my family until they die. It's a balanced walk between connecting with them and keeping them at arms length in order for me to survive mentally.

Another thing you didn't have on your list, but I am not sure if you want to include it: death. If a close one dies, it alters your life, especially if it was someone you were dependent on. Perhaps it needs it's own category?

chigirl agony auntIf you already have a mental health problem the change of relationship status can seriously damage you. If you are already predisposed to depression, a breakup can be the thing that will send you right into it. So, I will say those two things go hand in hand, as relationship status can affect your mental health, and your mental health affects how you react to relationship changes.

You forgot one huge problem: family problems. I believe family problems comes third to mental health and relationship problems.

For men I imagine money and work situation is more important than relationship problems. Probably due to social pressure and the idea that men should be the bread winner while women don't experience much pressure in that department.

Weight and lifestyle issues I imagine is close to mental health as well. I don't think it's as easy to group and separate issues in categories or rank them, as they are often interconnected. Two or three factors can be at the top of one persons life, and in combination makes its own unique problem to face.

Take me, I face mental health and family issues. Those two combined can be enough to handle, but add in a relationship problem and you get a whole new sort of problem than if all I had to worry about was a relationship. The most order-disturbing issue to me, in my life, is family related issues, by far. But that one wasn't on your list...?
