Hey people !

So, im 15, and weigh just about 147 lbs at 5ft4inches.I dont look fat with clothes, but its a bikini that bugs me.My mom says im not fat, im just "big boned".. YEAH RIGHT !

Anyway, i REALLY want to loose weight, cuz i feel this is keeping me from being the best i can be, i want to wear a bikini, i want to wear shorts... ect...you understand, right?

Well, for the past 6 months, ive cut down A LOT on eating, i eat only like salad and fruit and my mom makes me eat protein so meat sometimes.

i DONT throw up, and im not using laxatives, so its not like im extremely trying to lose wieght. but i do eat WAYYY less then i used to.

I run just about 10 minutes a day, i know i can do better, but honestly im just not mentally strong enough.... i think, because I HAVENT LOST ANY WEIGHT !

Yeah, ive lost some, but i still look the same i did before and it bugs me !:[

Any ideas? Please tell me what i can do to lose weight EFFECTIVELY!

What am I doing wrong ?

You are doing everything right and nothing wrong, but i dare say the thing that is against you right now is your age. I know it is a great age to be but when i was 15 i was just the same. I ate all the right food, did exercise and yet i had this bit of fat hanging around my waist etc, just couldnt shift it. By the time i got to 18 it had gone and i had a fantastic figure. Hope you dont mind me saying this but it was the 'ugly duckling' syndrome, Honestly, its the hormones and growing up puppy fat stuff, that lots of people say is rubbish. For me, anyway, it was true and it just melted away. But stick with the good healthy food and the exercise, no binge diets or crap food. You will look and feel fantastic but give it time.

take care

xx

Hey ! Yeah, I can see that "starving" myself wont truely do any good.

THANKS FOR THE INFOOO!

Does anyone know a good exercise regimen,

That one guy who said i needed to do more than run 10 minutes a day said i should.

Would jogging around my neighborhood for half an hour count?

Or should i do some thing else ?

And im seriously thinking about taking a class -only this summer - perhaps when i can drive myself and when i have time !

Like a gymnast class :]

Thanks again/

im going to be 17 in like 2 weeks or so...but u should know that when i was in grade 6...so when i was 11/12 i weight 150 pounds at 5 foot 3 inches. i always tried to lose weight and eat less instead of just eating healthy and it never worked. Not eating enough doesnt make u lose weight cause ur body just uses what u have and makes its own energy which can also make u sick.

I agree with the guy before u need a good excersize plan and dont be suckered into all these diet pills that are just ways to get ur money. I really didnt do a thing and i now weight 135 pounds. U will realize with age that being bigger is better than being nothing at all. Guys actually like girls with something to hold onto if u get my drift ;)

You should be proud of who u are not trying to change who u are. You should work on ur inside for now, focus on your grades and ur hobbies. If u feel better on the inside it will transfer to the out making u more confident and stand up straighter and be motivated to do well and get up and do something for a change! We all want to lose maybe 10 or 15 pounds. you are not alone .

You don't need to lose any weight !!! I mean come on 147 pounds is not fat. But if you feel that you really must lose the weight try going to the gym . ( yea I know u get all sweaty and tired but wouldn't that bikini be worth it?) Eating less then you used to may be hurting rather then helping you . I've heard that teens that have 3 meals a day and drink lots of milk have slimmer figures ( but thats jsut what I heard .

I'm in a gymnastics class. My cousin who was over wieght tried it out and she lost tons of pounds and it ended up that she loved the class. Maybe thats an option for you . Eating the right foods may also help I know you hear this all the time" eat all your fruits and vegies" well maybe that's what you should do . I just throwing ideas out there . But like I said to me it doesn't sound like you need to lose any weight in the first place

I hope I helped you in some way !

I'm sure you'll look great in that bikini! lol

A male reader, HMBBabyface United States +, writes (23 March 2008):

HMBBabyface agony auntWhat you are doing wrong is worrying. You're only 15. Things change in your body at different rates. You need to eat healthy (meats too), and exercise regularly. Running ten minutes a day is not enough. You should develop a workout regimen that involves all parts of your body (running, lifting, stretching). When you don't eat enough, you don't have the proper energy for such a workout. I know it seems counter-intuitive, but you need to eat a little more to allow you to exercise more.
