I've stopped taking the pill, when will my period be due?

A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I was just wondering when my period will be due? I was birth control for just a few months and was very regular. I was also regular before starting birth control but had a shorter cycle (24 days). The last month I was on the pill, I skipped several days and ended up starting my period about on Sunday instead of Wednesday. Will my period start 28 days later like it did while on the pill or 24 days later like a normal cycle without the pill?

Thanks!

Moo's Mum agony auntI remember when I went off the pill it took a wee while for the regularity to come back again. For a quite a few cycles it could be anywhere from 28 - 32 days. Eventually you will fall back into your normal cycle in the meantime carry tampons and pads with you everywhere so you can be prepared.
