LoVe_Is_ReAlxxx agony auntthere is nothing wrong at starting at such a young age. mastarbation is perfectly normal and you say that you want to stop, well dont! everybody has a pleasure which they do themselves from knitting to masrtarbation. if you enjoy it then carry on there is no problem with it!!! mastarbation can not cause you any problems and it is perfectly natural so dont worry!!!!

There is nothing wrong with masturbating and it is normal. You can't damage yourself due to just mastubating.

Just to clarify... I do think a child touching her/himself is one of those things they should be doing in private. Certainly not in the living room or walking around the grocery store. But if they do it, I would rather say to them, "This isn't an appropriate time or place for that, it's private." But never discourage them from the act itself.

A male reader, Dr. Mark Canada +, writes (17 April 2007):

Starting at the age of six is not wrong. Very very young children will touch themselves because it feels good. I am firm believer that children should be taught that certain things are not appropriate in public, but children should never be discouraged from discovering themselves. Stopping a child from this can only cause potential harm as they think that they are somehow "dirty", and they might associate sex with being dirty later on.

There is nothing wrong with mastrubating. Studies done of nurses have shown that those who masturbated at a young age are more likely to have orgasms, and more likely to enjoy a healthy sex life as adults.

Continue what you are doing, and never let anyone allow you to feel guilty for it! Have fun and enjoy your body -- it is yours, and no one else's!

it isn't "wrong", ignore the person below me, it's perfectly natural to start whenever you start exploring your body! there is no harm you can cause yourself and you have no reason to stop, infact it's very healthy!
