Congratulations!!!! When I had my daughter 9 years ago, I was told to wait about 3 months, but I know that medical advice changes all the time and we also live in different parts of the world. I guess it would depend on the circumstances of your birth, vaginal, c-section, complications, etc...Your doctor would be the best person to answer this. Your body needs time to heal and you run the risk of infection if you have intercourse too early after giving birth. You know your body best and should be able to determine when you're ready. Be careful though, you can get pregnant right away despite what some may say and that may not be healthy either. I admit that I didn't wait the full three months, I think it was at about a month and a half to two months and I don't think it was uncomfortable. Your partner should take it easy though because your body has changed and things are not the same down there, they never really will be :-) It may take some time to feel back to normal. Just be careful and talk more to your doctor and make sure you go to your follow up appointments.
