A male United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

So heres the story.... about 3 years ago at college I found my best friend, and he is the best friend I could ever ask for. We both make each other laugh, on the same wavelength, we're practically married (heh).

So I'm a gay guy, and I came out to him and everyone else about 2 years ago. He isn't gay, but, (And i know this is going to sound really a pathetic way to judge someone) I get the biggest gay vibes from him. You know what I mean, campness here and there, interest in guys... when we're out and I say "oh that guy is hot" he'll agree, and i'll laugh at what he just said.... firstly in shock but now im just used to it.

He recently broke up with his girlfriend because according to her they werent "getting anywhere".... and then the other day came as a shock to me when he told me he met someone online... I asked him who SHE was and he replied "Uhm its actually a he". In a way I wasn't shock, because i had suspected all along he may have been interested in guys.

But at the same time I was so shocked, that he just came out like that. I really didn't expect it. And something inside of me felt so happy and happy for him.

I've always told people and myself that if I was to have an example of a perfect boyfriend it would be him. He really is the most amazing guy I have ever met. I think its his ability to make me smile and laugh that has got me. He really cares too.

I think he knows I admire him too. He is always negative about himself and his looks, and I always make sure to correct his statements with compliments. I'm not sure if I'm over thinking, but I think there is a connection between us ....maybe I've just fallen way in love with him and im becoming a little obsessed. Sometimes we'll have conversations about subjects and he is really intrigued to talk about them, like he is interested in me. It's strange.

I hate admitting all this mushy stuff... I have dreams of him all the time.

Currently we both have/had people we're falling for... he has this guy he's going to meet in January to see how it goes, and i've just ended a 6 month relationship with a guy who was too pushy about stuff.

I'm happy for him I really am, but I really wish something could happen between us. I've fallen deeply in love with my best friend and its eating at me that there isnt really much of a response. I don't know if to just try and make it die or take a shot and talk to him about it.

Well I guess thats the best I can explain, Thanks for reading. xo

kenny agony auntIt does sound like the pair of you have got a connection, a spark going on there. I know that you say you are gay, but do you think he is?. Or could he just be going through a phaze in his life, or just be curious. I don't think you should just let it die, and also i don't think you should rush in and tell him how you feel so soon either. Be good friends with him, go out, have fun, open up to each other and be there for him if he need you. Keep going like this and if something is going to materialise between the pair of you then it will, some of the best relationships stem from being friends first.

All the best
