you need to get this all out in the open. i seem sure that you will treat her right which am sure is true so basically just tell her how you feel about her as her out maybe for dinner or a drink and if you have a strong friendship this will only make it better.
Buy her flowers, chocolate, wine aomething special to show her that you will treat her right! just so am clear on the situation she's not still together with you friend is she? hopefully not that would be rather awkward!
But as i said just go for it let it all out its the best thing for both of you!
