I'm not trying for a baby, it was a drunken fumble - nothing to be proud of at all! :( I'm not sure when I'm going to buy one because I've no money - how sad it that?! :p x

i'd say if there were definate 2 lines after any amount of time then you are, because i have done many (not proud of it) and when it's negative, it stays negative regardless, so i would prepare yourself for the news that you are pregnant. make sure you buy a leading brand (clear blue are the best) and that way you either get a line (which is negative) and a cross (which is positve) so there is no confusion. they cost £8.99 from any leading chemist.good luck, and i hope you get the outcome you'd like.

A
reader, anonymous, writes (21 September 2007): I think that is a good idea to do a repeat test to be sure, the reason that it says not to read it after the time is because it will be a false reading. Take no notice of what happens outside the time scale, these tests are only reliable if you go by the rules. It is possible to get a negative reading when you are indeed pregnant but rarely does it happen that you get a false positive as the hormones that the test reads would not be present. All you can do is repeat the test and see what happens.out of curiosity, are you trying for a baby because you sound like I did when I was trying for mine? kept looking at the tests and hoping another line would come up.
