reader, anonymous, writes (3 November 2008): It's called jock itch. Welcome to puberty, kid. Properly bathing should fix it. Shower and clean well, especially down, there at least once a day. You should also be taking a shower after playing any sports or hard work.

Wash and bathe them in water only no soap no deodorant etc, ask mum if she has changed washing powder

 I wouldn't freak out just yet, it's probably nothing, but better safe than sorry.That is something that needs to be checked once a month, for abnormalities, such as bumps, etc. Anything out of the ordinary, you should tell your parents.It's probably nothing but, with your health, you don't take any chances... it's your HEALTH :)

You don't give any information about what kind of itch this is, if there is a rash, if you have been having sexual contact with anyone, if you have been using new detergent, or anything so it is hard to advise.
Try putting some basic moisturiser or something on it and see if it calms down.
If it doesn't then you are going to have to see a medic. Yeah it's embarrassing but it's part of growing up so you're just going to have to deal with it.
