Opps, yes, forgot to highlight the millions of people who are forced into the industry, or enter it and feel trapped and then have no way out.. Thanks Person12345.

Some like their jobs and it's just a job, others are addicts, trafficked women, and women looking to fix previous sexual abuse. No one, not even women in the industry from what I gather, really know how many women hate it and how many are there because that's what they want.

And just to add to what I had said earlier, it's not as though I'm trying to pain a rosy picture. In fact a LOT of actors in the industry are users of addictive substances, have been in, or are in, exploitative relationships. Many are unable to have fulfilling relationships.
I know that some find it difficult to come to terms with life after their use-by date in the industry is past. After all, it is a short-lived career and after deducting expenses and considering that few pornstars invest wisely, not as lucrative as might be imagined.

Thanks for the link Gabrielle. :)
Yes, of course Gabrielle must be right, common sense dictates that there must be good reasons why so many people enter the porn industry and continue to work there, even when they are paid enough to be classed as millionaires.
I don't think sex work is easy, but for some people who have the right temperament and personality, it probably suits them better than working in an office or a bank.
Depends on the person and the family and friends they have to support them with their choices in life.

I think you would be much better served researching this issue at websites dedicated to pornography and so on.
I don't know if it still exists, but http://www.adultdvdtalk.com would be a good place to start.
To give you some rather superficial answers based on what I know and a passing brush with the industry some years ago -
1. Whether a specific porn actor can live a reasonably happy life depends on the individual and his/her ability to handle reality. Like with life in general, the more intelligent, level-headed among them tend to be better able to seperate reality from career and live a contented life.
2. Their daily schedule depends on the amount of work they have and tends to vary widely. After all it's not a desk job. Some days will be without work, others will be long hours at the studio. Some days will be 'on location'.
3. Yes, many do get married. Some do so after leaving the industry. Others while still active. Most marry within the industry and yes, some do have children also.
4. Generally the spouse of a porn actor is aware of the career their significant other is in. Regarding children...well that's one I do not know the answer to.
What is this for? A university project?
