A female United Kingdom age 41-50, anonymous writes:

My boyfriend is my fifth long-term relationship, but there is something different about him than my other partners. He gets very sticky from the end of his penis, kind of like a goo. Sometimes it drips down from him and there can be quite a lot of it. Sometimes its like that when we have sex, other times it happens when he stands up etc. It does not bother me, because I love him very much. However, I want to know if it is usual for this to happen. I know it is not an STD.

A reader, anonymous, writes (5 January 2016):

If it's clear, it's pre-ejaculate as the others say. I am like this, as I produce a lot, and if I'm very aroused for an hour or more, I'll need to change my jeans because it can shiw through.

If it is white, it's likely left over semen from the last time he came. If there's a lot, chances are he never got it all out. Also happens to me once in a while, if I'm in a rush.

If it's any other color, he needs to go to a doctor.

A good indicator of left over semen or pre-cum is the smell. If it's a few hours or more, it can sometimes smell strongly of fish... strange, I know, but it's the smell of the decaying sugars.

Hope this advice helps.

A female reader, aunt honesty Ireland +, writes (4 January 2016):

aunt honesty agony auntIt could be pre-ejaculation. However if it is happening outside of when he is aroused. Then I suggest that he goes to the doctor just to make sure that there is no infection.

A male reader, anonymous, writes (4 January 2016):

It could be pre-cum. A clear, slippery, baturally occurring lubricant released during sexual arousal so the penis can get good and ready for sex, much the same as a woman gets wet down there during arousal.

However it is usually only small amount, a drop or three as it spreads easily, so he may want to get it checked out just in case.
