Is there a way to apologize for my stupidity?

Tagged as: Big Questions, Dating<< Previous question   Next question >>
Question - (30 November 2008) 3 Answers - (Newest, 30 November 2008)
A male United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I asked a guy friend to ask this girl for her number specifically telling him to tell her that it was for me. I didn't ask her myself because I had recently moved to a different part of the city and his was the only number I had. I called her and she asked me how I had gotten her number (she is very protective of who has her number) saying that the guy never asked her. She is extremely mad about the whole thing. Now she won’t talk me. Is there a way to apologize to her for my stupidity?

He called me and gave me her number. Since he never asked her, as of right now I have no idea how he got it.

luvy duvy agony auntYes there is a way! Tell her why you didn't ask her yourself I am sure she will understand. Say it very apologetically. If she forgives you tell her why you wanted her number and then ask her if she would like to go out with you on a date, but only if you feel that she seems comfortable with you...you don't want to be too forward! Good luck!

DoubleM agony auntDuh . . . So if the guy never asked her, as she claims, how did you get her number? My advice: Try to make the whole thing funny - if possible.
