ok, yesterday (20 august 2009) my gran had to have her oldest dog put to sleep as she was old, and in a really bad way. it was upsetting :\.

but all that day, my gran and my uncle was sitting downstairs watching tv, nobody else was in the house, all 4 dogs was in the frontroom sleeping, and there was bumps every now and then upstairs.

is this a ghost or just the pipes etc under the floor boards?

none of the dogs go mad at all. i sleep in the back bedroom with my dog (2year old staffordshire bull terrior) my gran sleeps in the front bedroom with her 2 chi tzu's and my uncle sleeps in the smaller room next to mine (without a dog). it is 3:18am, i have not heard a single thing,

but last night me and my uncle was watching tv and heard things above us, nobody in the house, dogs downstairs with us.

im not convinced this is a ghost or anything, im just abit scared :(

i keep telling myself that it is nothing and it is either, heating pipes under the floorboards and nextdoor neightbore in his bedroom (right at the side of my grans room)

can somebody give me some answers? :)

p/s. there is nothing what so ever happening in any other room, it is just the front bedroom. also, my grandad passed away a couple years ago and was very close to my grans dog who had to be put to sleep (god rest them in piece x) (if this helps)

ok, its been almost a week now with this problem, my girlfriend and i was alone and not bothering about it, she went to the toilet, and on her way back she heared 3 knocks from behind her which made her really scared and jumpy,

i phoned my aunty up and she said to take a plaqu which my grandma has in the kitchen with a prayer on and to read it out loud whilest walking upstairs.

we did this, and then went straight to my girlfriends house as she didnt want to stay no longer.

later at night i come back home and spoken with my grandma about the situation, and told her about reading out the prayer.

would this have got rid of the spirit/ghost or asked the unknown to leave?

please reply because im going really really insane!! :(

thanks for all the comments, im going to have a look next time i hear it.

also something new happend this morning (20-august09)

i was having a shave in my bathroom and i put my razor after using it on a metal thing that holds the sponges, soaps and clothes that are used to bath with, i put my razor on the top of it and it was secure, but when i turned away for less than 2 minutes to wash my face, my razor was in the bath, i heard it drop into the bath. i don't like being soooo jumpy over this and im going to get over it myself. im not sure if it is a ghost though because i don't normaly get to sleep until 3am GTM and i have never heard or experienced anything like this. :O

I agree with Old Guy but what i will say is people fear what they dont understand so to get a better understanding of the noises the next time you hear them go into the room were you heard them and sit for 10 - 15 mins and you will find the fear slowly disappearing. If you find you are too scared just remember the saying fear is a phantom of the mind its not real just keep telling yourself this and you will be fine

I think it's best for you to look upon the noise that you hear in a rational way. This means that you must investigate the noise when you hear it instead of becoming scared by it. If you don't investigate the noise you will never really learn the source of it. Now, if you do investigate it and notice something otherworldly then you can be scared by it.

I'm not a sceptic, but you could be right. Especially if it's an older home, things creak, and pipes rumble. Even something small like mice in the attic could be causing the noise. We don't know if it's haunted, we haven't been there. But even if it is, at least the spirits in the home would be of good company, being your grandfather and the dog. I believe spirits may check in on you time-to-time, but at least they're of your loved ones if it is the case.

It's very sad that an old and trusted friend had to be put down. But it was a wonderful, merciful thing to do. If there are indeed spirits who hang about, this one will be grateful for a happy life and an easy end.
