For the ease of your mind, get an antibodies "ELISA" test 13 weeks after the last time you had sex with him. If it came back negative then you can forget about the HIV issue completely, if it came back positive "which CANNOT" happen because you were smart and used protection, then another test will be done, if it came back negative then the negative result is conclusive, if positive then a more complicated and expensive test will be carried out called "Western Blot" which in case its result was negative then this is conclusive, while if came back positive "Reactive" then an infection is confirmed.
Stay away of other tests i.e. PCR and so, since they're famous for producing false positives, while taking ELISA test in the right time "13 weeks after sex" is the only way to get a conclusive result.
Regardless of all the above information, and until the right time to get tested comes, remember that you had sex with condom, and subsequently you are NEGATIVE!

I would get checked anyway. Just because the condom could be defective. Also, get tested several times! Sometimes it can take a while for it to show. Hope everything ends up ok :) Also, how did you recently find out that your partner is HIV positive? Did they actually tell you? Or did you hear it from someone else?

If you used protection then the chance is very slim. But get checked right away!
