Smiling at me a lot, and giggling at my little copy-errors. I sort of shied a smile back when the time came, but my heart was racing a bit too much that period to do much. After that, we would often run each in between periods, and she would flash a non-toothy grin, and i would turn my head down in an awkward smile.I didn't know how to react. Now, during class, I would catch her looking at me through my peripheral vision and I would meet her gaze for a moment, look back at my work, and smile and shake my head. She replies with a similar gesture. Is she leading me on? Because she has a boyfriend.

She's smiling at you. You're reading too much into it right now. If she puts her hand on your heinie and gives it a squeeze or goes in for a kiss or flashes you, then she's leading you on.
She may be a zany girl herself, with a sunny disposition and a bad habit of smiling at funny guys.
Don't overthink this, you're just making yourself uncomfortable. If it bothers you, just ignore her.
Good luck!
