hmmm based on personal experience i would say that drinking makes me say things i normally wouldnt say if i was sober. this includes lies and truths. i usually blab about secrets too. i think that alcohol can make you think things that aren't true, or highten suspicions or feelings beyond ration, which in turn makes us say things we dont mean when drunk.
the bottom line is - don't take to heart the things people say when drunk. if someone said something that really bothered you, bring it up with them the next day to see if they really meant it or not.

i have a friend who will tell you anything when hes a little tipsy
But me and most of my mates can still lie and chat as much rubbish when drunk as sober
But im more inclinded to be honest with my close friend but not others
So it does depend on the person

I think some people come out of their shell when they are on the turps and let fly a few cold hard truths in the direction of loved ones/friends/colleagues. People who ordinarily wouldnt say boo to a ghost.
But for the most part its not a pretty sight, I believe everyone has seen a person they know well making a total arse of themselves in public but it's usually the "one" in the crowd. Most people tend to get silly, tell bad jokes, exaggerate sporting achievements and sexual conquests and then fall over - well that's enough about me.

If, for instance, I fancied the arse off some female and thought she had a superb pair of boobs and I wanted to slip her a crippler but was too shy to tell her when I was sober, I may well have been more inclined to tell her exactly what I was thinking after I'd had a couple or three.

take care

A

A
reader, anonymous, writes (5 June 2008): Not necessarily, hun. That's a bit of a myth. A lot of people are more uninhibited when drunk but a lot of people can hand you a 'line of crap' too, when they are drunk. In other words, there sense of right and wrong is blurred and distorted due to the effects of the alcohol and they can do the opposite.....they will lie.
If someone told you something when drunk, that you always wanted to hear from them, take it with a 'grain of salt' and think rationally. Never believe a drunk person!
