We were in a long distance relationship for about one month but overall I've been with him for one year and 3 months and have lived with him for 8 months. He told me that he doesn't know what he wants. He wanted me to wait for him while he made up his mind. He still wanted to be friends but I told him I didn't want that because it would be too hard for me. I really miss him... Would the no contact rule apply for a long distance thing as well or would it apply but not last as long? I've figured the best way would be to not contact him for a certain amount of time and engage in new hobbies and activities that I like doing and show everybody that I'm happy....and if I do talk to him again I'd be the same person but a happier person. What would you say?

It's very unfair of him to ask you to wait round while he sorts himsef out. Get out there and enjoy life you are missing out on opportunites waiting round on him to be ready.
