Is it normal to bleed when you stop taking the pill, especially considering I have already had my period this month?

I started taking the pill because I was thinking of maybe having sex with my bf sometime in the future. So I thought it would be a good idea to be prepared for when I am ready. I took it for about two weeks. The first week I took the sugar pills when I first got my period for the month, as instructed by my doctor. My bf and I then broke up (never ended up having sex). So I have stoped taking the pill as there is no reason for me to be on it. I stoped taking it a week ago and now I have some bleeding. Why is this? Is it normal to bleed when you stop taking the pill, especially considering I have already had my period this month?

I am quite scared...

I don't think it is anthing to worry about, the pill supresses and activated different hormones that affect your reproductive system. and therfore when you stop hormones are confused and think it's period time.

Most medications are prescribed to run a course though and is not particularly a good idea to stop them mid cycle, if you had asked a doctor he would have told you to take them till the end of the packet.

Your cycle maybe a bit muddled for a while but then should get back to normal.

If it doesn't or you are still concerned go see your doctor.
