A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I have been with my boyfriend for well over a year now, and I feel very close to him and I know he loves me very much. The problem is that I feel he is in love with another woman too. She lives far away and when we first met, he told me openly how in love with her he was, she was the one, no one could measure up, etc. As he grew more attracted to me, he began to get more and more defensive when I asked about her, even getting angry. He was worried about asking me out until he went away to visit her for the weekend, when he returned he did it as soon as he was home. While we've been going out she has got married and had children, but they are still in constant contact and today I saw flirty text messages between them on his phone. HE would never cheat on me, and he loves me very much, but I dont want to be second best. What should I do?
