A female reader, 19agegap United States +, writes (23 May 2007):

When you're dating a guy 19 yrs older, 15 doesn't seem that much anymore. Similarly, if I'm dating a guy 30 years older, 15 years is nothing.

I'm 17 years older than my girlfriend. I freaking insanely crazy about her in every way. My Uncle is 22 years older than my Aunt, the just celebrated their 19th wedding aniversary. My best friend is 28 years younger than his wife.. but the answer is "well, its 15 years.." not much for a fruit tree, a long time for a daisy. Don't worry about age, worry about love, friendship and loyalty.

For your age it would but the older we get the smaller the gap looks, for example the age gap for the ages of 15 and 30 looks much bigger than the age gap of the ages of 40 and 55. See what i mean?

eyeswideopen agony auntDepends, there's a big difference between a 1yr old and a 15yr old and a 15yr old and a 30yr old. Once everyone's an adult it might not be such a big deal. However when you cross a decade and a half there can be different goals and needs that have to be overcome but if you truly love each other I guess it could work.

A male reader, kenny United Kingdom +, writes (9 April 2007):

kenny agony auntIt all depends on how you both feel about the age gap. If either of you have got any hangups regarding age then the relationship won't work. However if you are both ok with it i don't see any reason why you can't both be happy together.

So at the most you are 21 and he is 36. Age is just a number, if you are happy together then age shoulden't be an issue.

Good luck x
