The girl is very shy, sweet and very kind hence why I fell for her straight away as my school is full of wild girls which is not really my type. After a few months I finally built up the courage to talk to her, since then we have had a few long conversations in real life and talk almost everyday over the net. Our communication is all in Japanese which makes the relationship seem much more unique and different to anyone else...Anyway, I heard from a friend that she is currently in a long distance relationship with a person back in Japan. Which killed me, haha. I guess I am currently in the friendzone I am really not sure where to go from here.I have never done anything with her outside of school, and am afraid of asking. I can barely make myself talk to her in person, as I always worry if really when I approach her if she actually likes me, even as a friend as she is nice to almost everyone around her. Good or bad.Should I just man up and talk to her more often and build a stronger friendship? What are signs that a girl may be pretending to like you, just because it is her nature to be that kind? What should I do?Sorry if this was long and a mess to read, any bit of advice at all will be greatly appreciated.Thank you!

Has she gave you any signs that she actually likes you as more than a friend? If she has a boyfriend then I would say not to go there. My guess is that she is new to the area and she is trying to make new friends. If she has a serious relationship at home then you may only end up getting hurt if you try anything more than friendship.
However you have only heard that she has a boyfriend, you have not actually asked her, so some day when talking to her, just casually ask her if she has a boyfriend and see how she responds. At least then you will know where you stand. If she says she doesn't well then go for it and ask her would she like to hang out some day. If she has then I think you need to try and forget about her.
