sending him a text would be fine, but be clear. it would be better in person, but sometimes it's just to scary! although, if there is something there, you shouldn't have a problem talking to him and it should make no difference. if you really think you can't face him, maybe consider a phone call? texting is quite impersonal, and it can be easy to give the wrong impression. aslo, you might not want him showing it round to his friends, so make sure you trust him!
