I am dreading going to college, having my prom etc because of the way I look. It's not only my face but my body as well so I can't really blame people for judging me.I could really do with some advice on perhaps how to deal with people about this issue or how to gain the confidence I really need.

I'm almost 19 and wear braces, and i find it really hard to meet new people because I'm really self-concious of the fact they make me look about 12. I just started a new college, and I was dreading it aswel, but it turned out just fine for me. People will like you because of your personality, it sounds cliched, but i can assure you from first hand experience its 100% true. Its up to you to make a concious desicion to not let the way you look affect your life. Think about a few people you know who are really popular (everyone likes them) but arent the prettiest girls/boys.... then you will see that what you look like will ultimately play no part in how people judge you.
As for the prom... its amazing what a padded bra and a waist cinching belt can do!! You'll have an amazing time because you'll be with all your friends who love you for who you are not how old you look xxxxxx
