I'm lonely and want something different in my life, to feel good again and have someone to care about. How do I get back on the dating scene? I'm only 18, so it's kinda difficult for me.

Relationships often come and go; I bet that this time next year, half the 18/19 year olds you know, won't be with their boyfirend by then! We are all single at different times and meet somebody great at different times.
I think the key is not to drift along with somebody whom you don't have strong feelings for out of fear of being single.
It's often easy to meet somebody at a party or pub or nightclub. I think it just takes time to meet somebody who is decent and your type that's all.
For my 21st, I had a night out to a nightclub wearing an "I'm 21" bade. Believe it or not I met a great guy. I didn't know it at the time that I would marry him and still be together! So things can happen at a time when you don't expect! I think you can meet somebody when you are just having fun, and not particularly looking or expecting. Life is full of surprises, so take it as it comes for now.
