writes:I first met this girl who I spoken to briefly about 6 months ago. About 6 weeks ago we met again. She said she remembered me as she found it refreshing for someone to come up to her and be decent without trying it on and because of that was looking out for me since that time. We went out and the first date went really well and she wanted to see me again, however, I then had a text saying she couldn’t see me again as she is still getting trouble from her ex partner and doesn’t want dates or a relationship at the moment. She is saying she would never forgive him as he was very controlling and they eventually split because he hit her daughter. I’ve told her that as she was looking out for me then it’s a shame if we can’t continue getting to know each other and that I wouldn’t push for dates and would be prepared to give her space and time.We get on really well and the texts and phone calls are good and also I have been very considerate, caring and supportive. She texts me almost daily and she’s excited at buying me Xmas presents!!I am very well liked and have a good all round personality, however, dating often leaves me confused as I’m rarely given the chance to demonstrate that. I go out and enjoy times with friends and my attitude is ‘if it’s meant to be’ then great.I’m now not sure what to for the best as not only as I can’t put my life on hold but also to come to terms with nothing may happen the possibility of that she meets someone new.
