A female United Kingdom age 26-29, anonymous writes:

ok I have recently acquired a new boyfriend, he's really sweet and nerdy like me but we have only been going out a week and have only actually met up about five times. and then today he told me he loved me! I didn't respond I just said "see you later" but I have m.e plus anxiety orders and had already begun thinking that going out with him was a really bad idea, and then he said that and i'm freaking out a bit. i'm thinking I should just tell him i'm not in the right place right now for a relationship as I need to focus on both my health and getting into college, and although I do like him I'm just not that crazy about him and I wasn't even looking for a relationship when he asked me out, but I don't want to ruin our friendship or make anyone mad or upset...help me please?

llifton agony auntyou should prob break up with him if you're not into him and after one week, already don't want to be with him.

he has no clue what love is if he's saying it after one week.

kenny agony auntI think that saying i love you after just one week is somewhat early, and a little keen to be honest. It sounds like you are not ready for a relationship right now so i feel your best option is just to be brutally honest and tell him how you feel. Tell him now rather than later, the longer you leave it the harder it will get. Im sure he will understand, he may be upset in the beginning but he will get over it, being upfront and honest is the best thing you can be. Maybe stay friends, who knows what may materialise in the months to come.

Good luck
