Any way J and I have been together for 2 months and he doesn't even hold my hand, I'm not sure I like him anymore, but he says he's afraid to lose me, and be never had to break up with someone. Meanwhile F and I have been friends for a while but we've always liked eachother but i never acted cuz I'm nervous of what people will think and he never acted cuz well he's nervous– or so all our friends and his brother say– any way I have no clue what to do. I think you should gently separate yourself from the boy who won't even hold your hand. He isn't mature enough yet for you. He might hurt for a bit but he will get over it.
You then need to learn through mutual friends if the other boy would like to go out with you. If so you can arrange to meet up. Don't make the first meeting too big a deal - coffee or a pizza maybe. See if you get on. You can then arrange to meet again if it seems to be working.

Out of curiosity, when "dating" someone, what do you actually mean? Like, what do you do that makes it dating?
