Hi,
well there isnt such a great age gap especially when you turn 18 and he will be 26.
But he is still in a position of authority over you and that is very seductive for a lot of people, which as an ex teacher to me is unfair. A teacher would ask himself would she be interested in me if I wasnt her teacher - the answer is usually no.
So I would advise to graduate then wait several months, if you still have feelings then contact him and ask him if he would like to catch up for a chat to reminisce over the old school days. If he's interested you will know then.
