writes: Help!! I need some reassurance. I'm afraid that i might have cancer. I know i'm only 14, but i heard that you can get cancer at any age and i'm terrified of getting it. In health class at school, we watched a video on self examing, and it taught us how to do it, well, before getting in the shower tonight, i did a slight check. meaning i wasn't really concentrating, but suddenly i felt something that i think was a lump. It was in the same spot on both breasts and they felt the same. but it scared me. On the video though they said it's better to do these exams on the day after your period and i haven't had my yet, so could that be what caused the lump? Also, in our health text books at school, it said that one of the 7 warning signs of cancer was abnormal discharge, and I've always had this clear goo type discharge since i first started my period. I'm so worried. I have so many problems and worries about my body, and i know the doctor would help me but i'm kind of scared of doctors. I don't want them to see or feel my personal spots on my body. And another thing is that my period pains last forever, they always stay before and during the period and it sucks! I never want to leave the house because the clear discharge makes me feel like i'm having the period and i don't like doing things when i have my period. My mom says that the doctor can give me a pill to make them easier to deal with which i would love, but i don't want my body to get screwed up. I don't know what to do. I'm so worried. Please help! Thank you :)
