I don't know if I should just get a sitter. I'm half tempted to just forget him and go out that night with my girlfriends. He has never done anything for the anniversaries, or many special occasions, and i want to leave this one up to him, however I know he isn't going to do anything and it is going to upset me. We have had a really really hard year, and I don't feel like making such a special event for some one who i don't feel will appreciate. I guess I feel he has a lot to make up for, and it seems like something he could do to start. What should i do?

i would leave it up to him as if he wont appreciate it and is not interested then there is no point and neither of you will enjoy yourselves
