A female age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I'm 17 and my sister had a baby at 17, shes now 19 and my other sister is 23, they are both currently pregnant, and although i dont want a baby watching my mum and them both going on about babies and looking at tiny clothes it makes me feel sad. I try joining in and i just feel like im being pushed out, it gets me really down because its not that im just being jealous, because im really happy for them both and im really excited too, but i just dont understand why i get so depressed about it.

A female reader, lexilou United Kingdom +, writes (3 July 2008):

lexilou agony auntYou get depressed as you dont feel part of this 'club'. This is normal to feel this way, it is an exciting time for a mum when a daugher is pregnant and she has two at once.

I was treated like royalty all three times and that was my favourite part, being pampered and constantly having someone caring about my health, feelings etc etc. So your mum is enjoying this time. It doesnt mean she loves you any less and would be sad probably if she thought for one minute you thought it was deliberate. Your time will come when you are a lot older but for now, why not treat your mum by cooking for her or ask if you can do something together by yourselves. Get more involved with your sisters too, I loved my sister being pregnant.

Your mum will probably appreciate the effort you make for her as being a mum to 3 girls let alone 2 pregnant and one teenager must be hard work!!!!
