Theres this girl on my street that I like alot. I've sent her a poem kinda as a hint that I liked her.. She considers me as her best friend. I keep wanting to ask her out, but I dont want it to ruin our friendship, or that she denies me and we dont talk..

I dont know what to do..

A reader, anonymous, writes (9 June 2009):

Ah... this is one of those thigns that you can better handle with age. It's easier to be friends with someone you have feelings for and who doesn't return them once you get older, live a little, and learn how to handle yourself maturely.

Just remember, if you can be her best friend and really like her without her knowing, then what's the difference in her knowing?

It doesn't change the way you get along, they type of people you are, the things you have in common..

You can't sit around wondering and I think you know that. How will you go through the rest of your life thinking "i wonder what would've happened if i had told her."

Find out how she feels.

It's ok. Everythign will be fine.
