It's so easy to forget that guys have the same problems as girls when it comes to flirting!
I know you're probably tired of it but if you like a girl, smile! Make eye contact, ocasionally ask her how her holidays were, or tell her that you like her hair that way. Nearly all girls are soooo sensitive and appreciate how warm and caring you are.
We notice these compliments a LOT, especially when it seems you've put real thought into your comments.
If ur shy, do this once in a while before talking to a girl. Once you figure out if your compatible THEN ask her out. Asking someone who you don't know at all, like if you just met at a cafe or whatever, can be hard.
If you do want to start a conversation with someone you just met, start with a smile and a hi. You'll instantly be able to tell how she feels about first impressions from her response. If she says hi back, smiles and makes eye contact, introduce yourself and carry on the conversation.
If you do start to babble or whatever, girls love compliments so just say something stupid like "sorry, I get nervous around pretty/beautiful girls". If she still looks at you like a freak then that relationship isn't going anywhere. If she laughs and carries on the conversation then well done, you've found yourself a really sweet and good-humoured girl.
Good luck!

hiiyaa :)
i'm a girl so i hope this helps...
okay when talking to a girl...don't overpower it or anything.
Just smile and say things like 'hi how was your day?'
Be friendly and nice. Smile in a friendly way.
If your wanting to flirt, just tell her she looks pretty, things like that...
