HELP, I met this guy online and he was really awesome.

No we are not dating but I lied about my age when we met. And I'm scared he will be mad if I tell him but It will be weird if he finds out later on.

We have a three year age difference he thinks we have a two year age difference. I really love him as a best friend and I'm scared. Please help

I was in the same exact situation as you except the age difference was 6 years. I told him before I knew my feelings would grow too strong so if in the worst case scenario I wouldn't be as hurt. He ended up forgiving me and was happy that I told him and respected where I was coming from. If this guy really likes you he's not going to let 1 year make or break the relationship.

So_Very_Confused agony auntI agree just tell him...

it's only one year it should be fixable if you have not lied about anything else and you explain to him why.

but you must come clean with him ASAP

Honeypie agony auntYou lied about 1 year ? I don't think that 1 year makes a difference but the longer you wait to fess up the worse it will get.

Just tell him. He may not be ok with you lying, he may understand (if that is the only little lie you told him).

A female reader, anonymous, writes (30 June 2014):

You are better off telling him now than having him found out accidentally or after you have been together for years.

His trust in you will be completely broken unless you come clean NOW before things get anymore serious between you two and apologise.

Good luck
