This wkd it's his birthday and we were meant to be going for a meal but someone is unwell and can't make it so we are no longer going. He hasn't suggested doing anything else, but I have as I wanted to give him his card and his present. He is always taking me out for dinner and treating me and I wanted to give something back for his birthday, do you think he will appreciate my efforts, or will he think it's a bit too much?I really want this to work out as haven't liked anyone this much for a long time.

I think he'd love the thought that you have actually took the time and trouble to think about his birthday and want to celebrate it with him ..GO FOR IT GIRLFRIEND!! you only live once..you say he always takes you out and treats you,so nows the time to return the favour.. as Dr phyc says book a table for 2 or maybe surprise him with a romantic candel lit dinner at home.. put on something sexy and give him the best birthday ever im sure he'l love it.. if he doesn't then his a fool...
GOOD LUCK & HAVE FUN

I think you two have known each other for a little while and it would be perfectly reasonable for you to arrange something special for his birthday - if the guy has any sense he will be chuffed to bits! So book that table, get yourself all dressed up and give him a very 'happy' birthday.
