I used to avoid seeing my bf at this time, not only did I feel groggy with it but I looked awful. At the end of my tether I visited one of these herbal remedy shops and they gave me some cream called Bio-Propolis which really helped with the itching and crusting. Also they suggested I take some capsules to boost my immune system( I can't remember the name of those unfortunately). Since that time I don't get the outbreaks as frequently and as severely. It has never seemed to worry my bf ,because I'm careful he hasn't caught it from me either.

HSV 1 is very common. After you have had it a couple of times you become able to tell when it is coming. At this time its important not to kiss anyone, but other than that it is not infections. It also tends to repeat less and less as you get older, I have it and its rare for me to get an outbrake more than once a year.
I recommend Zovirax by the way. If you catch it early this can prevent it or limit the outbreak to just a few days.
It's really nothing to worry about in relationships. Just make sure to not kiss anyone when its active

you shouldn't stay in a relationship with your boyfriend just because you are afraid you won't have another relationship. there are other people with HSV 1 that would kiss you because they already have that themselves. i personally would be a little hesitant to kiss someone with HSV, but when you find true love that won't matter as long as you a cautious. just be careful.

I think people would still want to date you but you need to tell them relativly soon into the relationship that you have HSV 1. Don't make it the 1st thing but soon. Good Luck.
