writes: Hi.I have a difficult decision to make, and i'm not sure what to do.I have been offered three Au Pair jobs, one is in Spain, one is in Austria and the other is in London. I'm not sure which one to choose if i decide to go for any of them. The one in Spain only pays 50 Eruos a week as spending money, the one in Austria pays 80 Euros and the one in London pays between $101 to $ 201, i'm not sure what that converts to in British pounds. So obviously the pay in London is better, but i have wanted to live in Spain for a long time, and I have also wanted to go to Austria for a while, but i also love London as i have been there afew times.Another problem is that i was supposed to be going to a concert on November 3rd, which i didnt really want to miss because i have never got seats so close to the stage before, and they are my favourite band. The family in Spain said they wanted someone to start from October 1st, and but November 1st as the latest start date.So i'm not should if we could arrange something. There is also a convention coming up at the end of November, where you can meet actors from film, voice actors e.t.c, and they are going to have some great guests, so i would have liked to have gone to that too.I only found out about the convention yesterday. Also the family in london only want me to stay afew months, whereas the family in spain want me to stay between 3 months and two years, and the one in Austria wants me to stay 3-12 months. All the families sound very nice too so i'm not sure what to do. I'll have to weigh everything up.I dont want to give up some great experiences abroad and in London ,but at the same time, it will be hard to give my interests up to.Another problem with the concert is i might not be able to get a refund on the tickets. The family in Spain want me to speak to them on the phone, they don't know about those events, so if i decide to, i will speak to them soon.It is very tempting because as well as looking after the children, i will be teaching them English, and I will have opportunities to learn Spanish too.

They then sent another email about an hour later saying they couldn't ring me tonight, but they would ring next week if they were still looking , and thanked me. Does that sound odd ?.Another option is for me to start Au pair work in November, after the concert, or sometime later than that.I'll think about it. If the family from Spain call me and i change my mind, i could always say something else has come up.It wasn't finalized anyway, we were going to have a chat on the phone. I'm not sure when they were going to decide who was going to work for them though.

I think you would most like to go to Spain, but I don't think it is the best choice. You are being severely underpaid at that home and you would miss your concert. You can always visit Spain another time, don't feel like you have to go this year...you can even save money and go there as a tourist instead of working.So....between London and Austria, which would you rather do? Do you like busy cities or beautiful countryside? London is a very busy and noisy city with lots of things to do ... it sounds like you like this. Austria is more laid back, although they do have some big cities, but I don't know where you will be staying.I hope this helps you sort things out. Have fun, you lucky girl!
