A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hi

I've been with my boyfriend for almost a year now and i really love him and he me but recently i have been feeling a bit insecure about his past.

When we are out with his mates on nights outs like most guys the conversation turns to sex which doesnt bother me it is when they start to talk about my boyfriends ex's. They go into how they could hear him and whatever girl having sex and always ask how it was etc and i just feel very jealous and hurt when they do this. I have only slept with my boyfriend and no one else, i know that cant be the same with him but i do compare myself to these other girls he has been with.

Do you think i should bring it up if it happens again and what can i do to stop thinking about this and get it out of my head before it ruins us?

ArmyMedic agony auntIt's just one of those things you'll have to live with, everyone has a past of some description, you could tell your boyfriend you feel uncomfortable about his friends talking about his ex, but I really advise against confronting them because it will only get much worse if you do.
