I have been to the doctors but he said there is nothing that can be done and no treatment - it is just a matter of waiting and seeing how much, if more of my hair will fall out and hope that it will grow back.As a young girl to have this happen to me you can imagine how difficult and upsetting it is to me. I am trying to not let myself get too upset or stressed as i know these things can at times contribute to making things worst :( I have been very brave and have not cried yet Reply to this Question Share |

Maybe counselling would be a good idea - like you said getting stressed or upset about it can make it worse sometimes. Maybe counselling could just help you try to understand and perhaps vent some issues that might be welling up inside of you, causing worry? You can get free counselling by seeing your GP, quite often they have in-surgery counsellors.
Worth a try?

I'm not sure of where the patch is or what the cause of your specific problem is, but I have heard that topical steroids such as Diprolene or Temovate can help. Other than that here's a site I found:

Don't let the doctors' prognoses get you down.

It is brought about by stress and is totally curable with a medicated shampoo/ lotion, obtainable, thank God, from chemists. So you don't have to go through your quack of a doctor. You are well-informed that stressing-out about it will make matters worse and you have my full sympathy. So, go to Boots, explain your problem and in a few short weeks, your problem will be behind you. Good luck Miss.
